Jim Ruel is a comedian, writer, and actor. He is an Ojibwe Native American of the Bay Mills Indian Community. He grew up in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where he spent the first ten years of his career performing in comedy clubs around the Midwest. He was a finalist in NBC’s Diversity Talent Search, leading to his first television appearance on The World Stands Up, taped in London, England. He was also featured on Goin Native: the American Indian Comedy Slam on Showtime.
He works in film and media as the Intertribal Entertainment Production Coordinator for the Southern California Indian Center. Jim is the host/writer of the Indiginerd Project video blog on YouTube.
