First-Year Student

You are a first-year applicant if you are still a high school student (even if you will complete college credits while in high school). You are also a first-year applicant if you have already graduated from high school, but have NOT enrolled at a college, university, or any other school after high school.

Transfer Student

You are a transfer applicant if you are a high school graduate who has registered or enrolled at a postsecondary institution—such as a college, university, vocational college, or trade school—after graduating from high school.

International Student

You are an international student if you are not a permanent resident or citizen of the United States, or you have arrived (or are planning to arrive) in the United States on a US visa, including students from Canada.

Through Minnesota’s postsecondary enrollment options program, UMN Morris lets high school juniors and seniors enroll in college courses on campus. You will get first-hand exposure to college-level work that will shorten the time to completing your bachelor’s degree.

Returning Student

If you left the University of Minnesota Morris before completing your degree, and you would like to return, you are always welcome to reapply.

We begin to review applications on a rolling basis.

Priority application deadline for maximum scholarship consideration.

Applications received after December 15 will be considered for admissions and automatic academic scholarships only.

August 1
Final application deadline.

We take into account several primary and secondary factors when we evaluate your application, but most of all, we want to get to know you as an applicant. That’s why we encourage you to visit campus and talk with an admissions counselor.

Not sure what to major in? That’s okay! You can begin as an undeclared major and take courses that meet your general education requirements, along with courses in a field that interests you.
