Choral Ensembles

The choral and vocal music programs at UMN Morris have occupied a place of prominence on campus and throughout the region since the founding of the university. You'll have the chance to study voice privately and to sing in a range of choral ensembles.

Concert Choir

The UMN Morris Concert Choir is a select ensemble that continues a long tradition of excellence in choral music performance. Since its founding in 1978, Concert Choir has gained a national reputation for its high level of artistry and professionalism in choral music performance.

The Concert Choir performs the finest choral repertoire from all historical style periods, as well as contemporary and global works. It has an active performance schedule and is composed of both music majors and non-music majors.

Chamber Singers

The Chamber Singers is an auditioned ensemble offering the opportunity to collaborate with other musicians and perform in a variety of styles. This ensemble performs more challenging music and requires a higher level of musicianship and independence.

University Choir

The University (Community) Choir is a non-auditioned choral ensemble comprised of students from all majors, as well as UMN Morris faculty, staff, and community members of mixed ages. The choir focuses on outreach and personal wellbeing through communal singing and special guest presentations.

Students enrolled in this ensemble receive one academic credit, which fulfills the artistic performance (ArtP) general education requirement. No prior singing experience is required.
