David C. Johnson Independence Hall

David C. Johnson Independence Hall, also known as Indy Hall, houses 225 first-year residents. This hall has 3 wings: A, B, and C. Indy includes mixed-gender floors (with male and female community restrooms) and gender-designated, gender-inclusive floors (with single lockable restrooms). There are two room shapes: traditional rectangle rooms and u-shaped rooms. These rooms are randomly assigned to residents and both room shapes have similar square footage.

Indy is favored by student-athletes and those who appreciate its location close to the Cougar Sports and Regional Fitness Center, the Dining Hall, and the Campus Convenience Store.

Each room has:

  • Two loftable beds (twin XL mattresses 36” x 80”)
  • One large built-in closet
  • Two desks and chairs
  • Two large dressers
  • Two small dressers
  • Box fan
  • Wired and wireless high-speed internet access
