UMN Morris offers a wide range of academic support and services to help you succeed. Whether you are looking for tutoring, advising, career services, or resources tailored to your individual needs and goals, we are here to help.
Student Success Center (SSC)
The SSC is your go-to hub for student support at UMN Morris. It offers academic and career support, learning assistance, transfer student support, and disability resources. All are free for enrolled students.
Academic Advising
This program supports student learning and exploration of major and minor interests, while providing opportunities to promote personal and academic growth to both faculty advisers and students.
Tutoring
The SSC offers free one-on-one tutoring and weekly study groups for many 1000- and 2000-level courses and some 3000-level courses. Whether through study groups or individual tutoring, you can share study strategies, ask questions, and review lectures under the guidance of an experienced peer.
Peer-Assisted Learning (PAL)
PAL involves voluntary weekly review sessions, led by peer mentors (PALs), for any students in certain challenging courses who want to better understand difficult course material, improve their grades, or discuss notes and course concepts.
Career Services
Career Services' mission is to empathetically assist UMN Morris students and alumni in achieving their career goals by ensuring they have the resources, support, and self-awareness needed to enter and thrive in their chosen careers.
Disability Resource Center (DRC)
The University of Minnesota is committed to providing equitable access to learning opportunities for all students. The DRC collaborates with students who have disabilities to provide and arrange reasonable accommodations.
Writing Center
Through the Writing Center, you can meet with one of our consultants (either a fellow student or an English instructor) to improve your writing. Whether it's specific papers/assignments or writing in general, we strive not only to assist with specific projects but to provide feedback that allows you to become a more confident, independent, and effective writer.
Summit Scholars - TRIO Student Support Services
Summit Scholars is a U.S. Department of Education-supported program that promotes access, equal opportunity, and success. It serves students who are first-generation in college, students who are low income, and students who have disabilities. TRIO Student Support Services (SSS) provides inclusive and accessible services, including academic support, financial wellness education, FAFSA assistance, career and graduate school exploration, cultural enrichment, and cohort-building programming. The TRIO SSS program removes institutional and cultural barriers, fosters a climate that values the social and cultural capital of our students, and promotes retention to graduation.
Hasselmo Language Teaching Center
The Hasselmo Language Teaching Center (LTC) houses a range of language-learning resources and an international film collection. The LTC also includes a computing facility and a media screening room. The center is available for student use when not reserved for class activities or language-proficiency testing.
Quantitative Learning Center (QLC)
The Quantitative Learning Center (QLC) is a collaborative study area staffed by peer learning assistants and faculty who provide one-on-one assistance to students. A hub for quantitative technology skill building, the QLC is where you'll increase your comfort with tools such as RStudio, Mathematica, and Excel, all while building mastery of foundational mathematical and statistical concepts used in other majors.
