Retention and Graduation Rates

75% of the first-time, full-time undergraduate students who enrolled in the fall of 2022 returned to the University of Minnesota in the fall of 2023.
The 4-year graduation rate for full-time students entering in fall 2019 and graduating from the University of Minnesota was 47%. The 6-year graduation rate for full-time students entering in fall 2017 was 67%.


The Student Achievement Measure (SAM) is an alternative to the federal graduation rate, which is limited to tracking the completion of first-time, full-time students at one institution. SAM tracks student movement across postsecondary institutions to provide a more complete picture of undergraduate student progress and completion within the higher education system.

88% of fall 2022 graduates were employed or in graduate school within one year of graduating from the University of Minnesota Morris.
