Overview
The marketing design-your-own minor, or area of concentration, will provide you with a foundational understanding of how value is created, communicated and delivered in the modern business world. This program blends quantitative analytical skills with behavioral science to help you decode consumer actions and make data-driven marketing decisions. You will be introduced to the basics of business, management, and marketing, and be able to take courses that fulfill marketing electives.
An area of concentration in marketing is an ideal complement to any major, and will equip you with essential, strategic tools applicable across corporate, nonprofit and entrepreneurial sectors. The design-your-own marketing minor is not an established minor within a particular discipline at UMN Morris. Rather, it was developed by faculty from multiple disciplines (business and management, communication and media studies, psychology, and sport management) who selected the academic curriculum and course requirements for it. Therefore, to declare a marketing minor, please reach out to one of the faculty associated with marketing.
