Gender-inclusive floor—David C. Johnson Independence Hall
Gender-inclusive floors offer students the opportunity to room with a roommate or roommates regardless of sex, gender identity and/or gender expression. David C. Johnson Independence Hall is a traditionally first-year hall.

Clayton A. Gay Hall floors
Clayton A. Gay Hall is a traditionally first-year hall with six total floors. The building is split between two towers, with three floors in each tower. Every floor in the building is gender-inclusive, which allows students the opportunity to room with a roommate or roommates regardless of sex, gender identity and/or gender expression. If you do not select "Gender Inclusive Housing" in the housing application, you will automatically be paired with a roommate whose gender matches yours. Each floor in Clayton A. Gay Hall has one male-designated bathroom, one female-designated bathroom, and two "Gender Inclusive" bathrooms, which lock for single-use. If you have any questions about Clayton A.
