Native American Serving Non-Tribal Institution (NASNTI) and Native American Student Success Programs (NASS):

The goal of Morris NASS is to increase the educational attainment of American Indian students by eliminating college achievement gaps. Grounded in student development theory, research, and lessons learned from campus pilot projects, it includes expanded summer bridge programming, college success coaching, peer mentoring, a residential living community, Anishinaabeg and Dakota language revitalization efforts, and a residency program that will bring to campus Native American elders, scholars, activists, and artists.

Summit Scholars- A Trio Student Support Services Program

Minnesota Morris Summit Scholars began in 2015 and is a TRIO Student Support Services program funded by the U.S. department of Education. Our program provides individual support as well as impactful opportunities and experiences for 140 high-ability students at Morris. Our shared mission includes helping students become their most academically competitive self while creating a rich, connected college experience towards a timely graduation. Students involved in Summit Scholars benefit from a wide range of services, including connections to campus resources, academic assistance, tutoring, cultural support and so much more!

Cougar Athletic Association

Opportunities for the nearly 400 student-athletes and 19 athletic teams at Morris and to provide high-quality equipment and facilities for these student-athletes. Since its founding in 1960, Morris has had a rich tradition of success in athletics, and we want to connect alumni, family, and Morris community members in support of the Cougar athletic program. 

Green Prairie Community

In the fall of 2013, the first group of students moved into the Green Prairie Community. The contemporary residence hall is the first to be built on campus since 1971, and was designed to meet Minnesota B3 sustainability guidelines. Housing 72 students, the two-story hall offers suite-style housing, with four-person suites (with single and double occupancy rooms), four floor lounges and kitchenettes, a central lounge, patio, and study space.The hall is designed for students who are interested in live sustainable and eco-friendly lifestyles.

Morris Healthy Eating 

Student Affairs is leading a college health coalition to expand access to, and availability of, fruits and vegetables and other healthy foods on campus, within greater Morris, and in Stevens County. UMM received funding from Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota's (Blue Cross) tobacco settlement proceeds to promote healthier eating and thereby help to improve the health of Minnesotans.
