The Double Mobius Strip commemorates the Morris campus' history as both the West Central School of Agriculture and the University of Minnesota Morris. The continuity of the 77" cast-bronze strip represents the continuing education mission of the two schools. The piece was dedicated during the West Central School of Agriculture Summer All-School Reunion of 2014.

The installation of the sculpture was part of renovating the Legacy Courtyard (located behind the Welcome Center), which itself is a celebration of the campus' history. The renovation project was made possible due to donations by the families of Lily and Walter "Slim" Hokanson '30 (WCSA), Hollis Dyer '51 (WCSA), the WCSA Alumni Association, and UMN Morris's Class of 2013.

Chicago-based artist Plamen Yordanov graduated the National Academy of Fine Arts in Sofia, Bulgaria, with a master of fine arts in painting. He has participated in more than 100 exhibitions in Europe and America.
