Family Portal

The UMN Morris Family Portal is your connection to the information you need when you need it. In the portal, you can do all of the following.

  • Personalize the advice, information, and deadline reminders you receive so that your news feed is customized to your interests and needs.
  • Receive personalized email newsletters to keep you informed about what matters most: your student's success.

College Finances and Student Records

Financial Aid Status

Students should check their financial aid status in late July for their official financial aid offer. Consider talking to your student about budgeting, loan borrowing, and student employment.

Billing & Payment

A few days after classes begin, billing emails will be sent to students and individuals with parent/guest access. Students are billed for one semester of charges; the bill is due in full by mid-September, or students can opt in to the payment plan and pay in three installments for a nominal fee.

Direct Deposit

Students should set up direct deposit for their student employment paychecks and for any financial aid funds that exceed the charges on their student account.

Parent/Guest Access

Students will need to grant access for parents or guests to be able to pay their bills or view information about their student accounts, financial aid, grades, class schedule, or holds.

Student Health and Wellbeing

Health and Wellness

Resources like the Morris Let’s Thrive program, are available to UMN Morris students to support their health and foster well-being for success in college and in life.

Health Service

In partnership with the Stevens Community Medical Center, this on-campus health clinic provides medical care, lab tests, immunizations, and some prescriptions. A student health and wellness fee supports all out-of-pocket and co-pay costs. Students are required to have health plan coverage to ensure that they have access to medical care and to maintain good health. Learn more about health insurance

Disability Resource Center

UMN Morris is committed to providing equitable access to learning opportunities for all students. Disability Resource Center staff collaborate with students who have disabilities to provide and/or arrange reasonable academic and residential accommodations and provide support for students with physical, psychological, and/or cognitive disabilities.

Student Counseling and Wellness

Student Counseling is here to help students meet the challenges of college, address mental health issues, and transition to adulthood. Counselors provide confidential services to all students, free of charge, including short-term, individual, personal, or undecided major/career counseling. Services are offered to Minnesota residents via tele-medicine during the remote learning period. 

Wellness at UMN Morris encourages healthy living through resources like Peer Health Educators, the Violence Prevention Program, and Morris Healthy Eating.

Public Safety

Students rate UMN Morris in the top 10 percent of colleges nationwide for their sense of safety and security. Licensed, uniformed campus police officers and security staff provide proactive patrol, crime prevention, safety programs, safe escort services, parking, law enforcement, and emergency services 24 hours a day. As part of Public Safety, students are automatically registered for SAFE-U alerts. SAFE-U is the University of Minnesota System’s mass notification system that enables Public Safety to quickly communicate about campus-related emergencies, like severe weather or a dangerous situation. Students can register their family members for SAFE-U.

Student Resources

Student Success Center

The Student Success Center (SSC) is home to Learning Assistance (tutoring, Peer Assisted Learning), Academic Advising, First Year Experience, Transfer Student Services, Career Services, and the Disability Resource Center. The SSC can assist students with setting and refining goals, planning their path to graduation, and finding academic opportunities. The SSC also connects students with advisers, faculty, and other resources at UMN Morris and in the Morris community.

One Stop Student Services

One Stop Student Services helps to support your student’s academic career by providing expert advice regarding financial aid, billing, payment, student employment, registration, student records, and veterans benefits. The One Stop strives to work through the big picture and anticipate student needs in each interaction. This empowers students to make informed decisions, ensuring optimal student outcomes.

Academic Center for Enrichment

Known as ACE, the Academic Center for Enrichment is your student’s one-stop-shop for academic enrichment opportunities—study abroad, National Student Exchange, the McNair Scholars Program, the Honors Program, undergraduate research, and national fellowships and scholarships.

Office of Equity, Diversity, and Intercultural Programs

The Office of Equity, Diversity, and Intercultural (EDI) Programs provides academic, social, and cultural support services to students. Programs include the Multi-Ethnic Student Program, Gateway, International Student Program, and LGBTQIA2S+ Life. EDI works with campus partners to meet students’ needs, foster inclusive diversity, and promote intercultural competence for all students.

Native American Student Success

The Native American Student Success (NASS) program provides first-year college transition support, peer mentors, and cultural resources for Native American undergraduates. It also presents campus-wide cultural programs hosting Native elders, aunties, artists, and leaders.

Summit Scholars

This U.S. Department of Education-supported program, part of TRIO Student Support Services, promotes access, equal opportunity, and success for students who are the first generation of their family to attend college, students who are low income, and students who have disabilities. Summit Scholars offers personal, social, academic, financial, career and graduate school resources and support for college success.

Office of Residential Life

The Office of Residential Life (ORL) oversees on-campus living opportunities. It provides students with respectful, diverse, and inclusive living communities that enhance students’ personal development and academic success.

Student Activities

The Office of Student Activities promotes student involvement in campus activities and events. It coordinates more than 120 student groups, new student orientation, intramural athletics, student government, nationally known performing artists and lecturers, and other campus events. It’s a one-stop resource for student organizations and programming.

Intercollegiate Athletics

One in four UMN Morris students is involved in varsity athletics. UMN Morris offers 19 sports for men and women. Cougar athletes compete in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference and NCAA Division III. All students can cheer on the Cougars at home games and meets at no charge. Go Cougs!

Clifford J. Benson Center for Community Partnerships

Through the Clifford J. Benson Center for Community Partnerships, students can engage with the local community in meaningful, reciprocal, course-based, and co-curricular partnerships—including research projects, service learning courses, community-building events, and volunteer programs.
