Melissa earned her doctorate from Harvard University in 2013 (her dissertation focused on evaluation of first-year student success efforts), and she has served as the UMN Morris Vice Chancellor for Enrollment Management since 2019 and the Senior Director of Institutional Effectiveness since 2015. Her accomplishments in those positions include guiding the development of the campus's first strategic enrollment management plan, developing new strategies and processes to improve student retention and graduation rates, collaborating on and guiding institution-wide efforts to support student success, participating in the Systemwide Enrollment Council, serving as our campus Accreditation Liaison Officer to the Higher Learning Commission and shepherding us through our ten-year accreditation review, and identifying, collecting, and sharing an enormous amount of useful data related to our institutional effectiveness.
