The exhibit is a combination of interview excerpts alongside the present-day portraits of Native college students. O’Leary began working on this project during her undergraduate studies at UMN Morris with help from Jess Larson, professor of studio art, and Becca Gercken, associate professor of English. O’Leary had a book contract for this project before graduating. She then went on to do graduate work at the UMN Twin Cities Art Department, where she earned an MFA in Photography. The work in the gallery is both her MFA show and the imagery for the book, which has never been seen in a gallery before.

The exhibit runs through Oct. 11, 2023.  Hours for the gallery are Monday-Friday: 9 a.m.-8 p.m., Saturday: Noon-4 p.m., closed on Sundays.
