Share in a wonderful community meal that supports three local causes–the Prairie Renaissance Cultural Alliance, the Stevens County Food Shelf, and Someplace Safe–during the Bread 'N Bowls fundraiser, to be held from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Monday, April 24, at the Morris Area Elementary School cafeteria.
This is the 16th Annual Bread 'N Bowls event. Since 2008, Bread 'N Bowls has been raising awareness about violence and poverty in our community, as well as providing support for local organizations.
Tickets are $10 per person ($5 for kids 12 and under) and include a meal of soup, bread, dessert, beverage, and a handcrafted bowl to take home. Family friendly entertainment and children’s activities will also be available. All proceeds from the event are donated to Stevens County Food Shelf, Someplace Safe, and the Prairie Renaissance Cultural Alliance (PRCA) to provide needed food for families living in poverty, safety and advocacy services for survivors of violence, and scholarships for low-income children who wish to participate in the PRCA’s annual Prairie Arts Camp.
Support for Bread 'N Bowls is provided by a broad coalition of local businesses and organizations. The bowls are handcrafted by art students at the University of Minnesota Morris and the Morris Area High School, along with PRCA artists. Food and supplies are donated by local organizations and businesses that include: A Stone's Throw Cafe, Assumption Catholic Church, China Panda, Common Cup, Dairy Queen, DeToy's, Don's Cafe, Ecowater, Federated Church, First Baptist Church, First Lutheran Church, Kongsvinger Lutheran Church, McDonald's, Meadowland Market, Fire Side, Mi Mexico, Morris Food Shop, Old No. 1, Pomme De Terre Foods, Pizza Ranch, Sodexo, St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Subway, Taco John's, Trinity Evangelical, Wenzel Baking, Willie's Supervalu, and the UMN Morris Office of Community Engagement.
