UMN Morris staff association awards scholarships

The United Staff Association (USA) at the University of Minnesota Morris has awarded scholarships to Dalton Koehler and Callista Kill. Usually, one scholarship is awarded each year. However, this scholarship hadn't been awarded the past couple of years, so two students were selected this year.

Dalton completed his sophomore year and is majoring in Sports Management. He is also a member of the Cougars golf team and made the UMAC Academic All-Conference in his first year. He is employed by the Athletics Office where he will be working this summer. Dalton’s parents are Jana and Brian. Jana is a USA member, working in the Office of Financial Aid.

Callista Kill completed her freshman year focusing on her major in Communication, Media & Rhetoric. She is looking forward to her Sophomore year when she will join the Saddle club and other campus organizations. Callista’s parents are Joe and Julie. Julie is the lab services coordinator/safety chair for the math and science division and a USA member.   

The Morris Campus United Staff Association (USA) includes approximately 250 members of AFSCME Clerical/Technical Staff, Civil Service employees and Teamsters who serve in all areas of the Morris campus. Money for the scholarship is raised via personal donations from USA members.
