Academic Planning: Economics

The top 3 things to consider when planning a major in economics

  1. Students should take Principles of Microeconomics and Macroeconomics in the first year. These courses are prerequisites for all other courses.
  2. Calculus I is required and should be taken in year one, if possible. If the student tests into a lower level of Math, have them get started with Math in the first semester.
  3. Statistics 1601 is required and should be completed in the first two years. Students with strong Math skills and who have completed Calculus I can take Statistics 2601 instead.
