Semester at Brunnenburg (Fall, 2025)
“Brunnenburg represents so much of what we stand for at UMM. It's a place firmly grounded in its past and constantly working towards a sustainable future. Add to that the cultural and historical richness of South Tyrol and there is quite literally something for everyone. Come find out what's there for you!”- Professor of Art History, Jimmy Schryver
Explore the German-Speaking region of the South Tyrol (Italy) with University of Minnesota Morris Professor Jimmy Schryver. During this semester program you will have the opportunity to experience a sustainable farm and 13th-century castle in the town of Dorf Tirol. You will quickly become immersed in the culture and history of the region surrounded by castles, fortresses, and churches. You will have time to experience the upscale shops, boutiques, cafes, and restaurants of cozy cities like Meran and Bolzano, while also hiking the beautiful landscapes that are the Alps.
Professor Schryver has been leading undergraduate student programs abroad since 2001 and led the most recent Brunnenburg program in the fall semester of 2021.
Brunnenburg is located in Northern Italy nestled in the Alps. Conveniently located between Munich, Germany and Venice, Italy, the experience of spending time at Brunnenburg is vastly different and unique - and this opportunity with Professor Jimmy Schryver is one not to be missed!
