The UM Student Engagement Planner project was initiated through the UMTC Office for Student Affairs and funded with a $90,000 SPIF Award.

This planner, customized for each campus, will help UMM students find opportunities.

The Student Engagement Planner is designed to intentionally link students to meaningful experiences outside of the classroom. Students would be able to search a wide-range of engagement opportunities that match their academic interests, outcome development needs, and/or personal interests. Units would be able to work with students to develop an intentional and customized "critical path of engagement" from the freshmen to senior year, which could be tailored to specific academic majors and disciplines.

This project was selected because it will fundamentally enhance the student experience at the University of Minnesota. It is directly aligned with the direction of a top three public research university and fits with a number of other improvement initiatives such as the GradPlanner project.
