A first job interview is stressful enough without worrying about what to wear. For many college students, buying professional clothing may be outside of their budget. That’s where the Cougar Closet comes in.
The Cougar Closet is a free resource for UMN Morris students who want or need business and professional attire for career events such as interviews, fairs, networking events, and conference attendance.
The grand opening of the Cougar Closet was held on Tuesday, Nov. 25, but the resource has been available to students since the end of October. In that time, 15 students have received 35 items of business and professional clothing.
Currently-enrolled students can find a variety of business casual and business formal attire, donated by faculty, staff, and community members.
If you have interview-ready clothing you no longer wear, consider donating to the Cougar Closet. Your blazer or dress pants might just help someone land their dream job!
By donating gently used business wear, you can make a direct impact on a student’s confidence and career opportunities. Donations are accepted at any time and can be dropped off in the Academic Center for Enrichment office in the lower level of the Student Center.
