Annual Juried Student Art Exhibition Scheduled Feb. 27–April 4

Artwork by students at the University of Minnesota Morris will be on display during the 2025 Annual Juried Student Art Exhibition in the Edward J. and Helen Jane Morrison Gallery.

This Ain’t No Disco, the 2025 Juried Student Art Exhibition, will feature works from majors and non majors who took part in studio art courses from spring 2024 to spring 2025. Artwork includes printmaking, sculpture, drawing, digital, fibers, ceramics, and artists books.

The juror for this exhibit is Alison Hiltner, a multi-media installation artist and the associate director of Soo Visual Arts Center.

Hiltner has exhibited nationally and internationally in solo and group exhibitions; some of her credits include shows at the Minneapolis Institute of Art, Telemark Art Center in Norway, Weisman Art Museum, 16 Tech in Indianapolis, Rochester Art Center, and UCLA Art | Sci Center in Los Angeles. She received several Minnesota State Arts Board Artist Initiative Grants, three MRAC/McKnight Foundation Next Step Grants, a Jerome Foundation Fellowship, an Artists on the Verge Northern Lights/Jerome Foundation Fellowship, two McKnight Visual Artist Fellowships, and an artist in residence at University of Minnesota’s School of Medicine through an experimental program at the Weisman Art Museum.  Most recently, Hiltner received the 2024 McKnight Visual Artist Fellowship and Practice Gallery in Philadelphia in 2025. The Morrison Gallery hosted her show, 'Our Lives Once removed,' in fall of 2024.

An opening reception will be held on Thursday, Feb. 27, from 7–8 p.m.

The Morrison Gallery is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m. and Saturday from noon until 4 p.m.  Visitor parking is available in the North lot.
