UMN Sport Mgmt M.Ed. Program Info Session & Guest Lecture: Sport Leadership and Gender

Vicki Schull, Ph.D., UMN Twin Cities' Senior lecturer of Sport Management and M.Ed. Program Director, visits Morris Campus. Two items are on the agenda:

1. (15-20 mins) An info session regarding UMN's M.Ed. program in Sport Management. The highly interdisciplinary field of Sport Management is open to applications from all backgrounds. If you are interested in working in sport or explore scholarly ventures in sport studies, stop by and listen to Dr. Schull explain the strengths and opportunities UMNTC's M.Ed. program can offer. 

2. (40-45 mins) Dr. Schull will then give a lecture on sport leadership and gender. Her research interests include leadership and gender in sport organizations including how organizational and social processes operate to impact women and men in sport leadership positions. an affiliated scholar with the Tucker Center for Research on Girls and Women in Sport. This lecture is presented to you from the Sport Studies and Athletics Discipline and the Commission on Women, Gender, and Equity.

Biography of Vicki Schull, Ph.D.:

Vicki Schull is a lecturer in sport management in the School of Kinesiology and an affiliated scholar with the Tucker Center for Research on Girls and Women in Sport. Her research interests include leadership and gender in sport organizations including how organizational and social processes operate to impact women and men in sport leadership positions. 

Schull worked in college athletics for a total of ten years including a two year stint as Associate Athletic Director and Head Softball Coach at Suffolk University (Boston, MA) where she also served as the department's Senior Woman Administrator (SWA). Prior to moving to Boston, Schull spent eight years at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse where she served as the Head Softball Coach and Lecturer in Exercise and Sport Science with a focus on sport management.
