Academic Planning: German Studies

The top 3 things to consider when planning a major in german studies

  1. Beginning German 1001 plus German 1002 satisfies the foreign language General Education Requirement. These courses are not part of the major, but do act as a pre-requisite for German 2001 and beyond.
  2. Students should consult with German discipline faculty and receive pre-approval for major elective courses that are outside of the German discipline to ensure sufficient depth of coverage.
  3. Students are encouraged to complete at least one year of instruction in another foreign language in addition to German.
