Expertise in Spanish is the foundation for jobs in translation, interpretation, and teaching, but it can also open the doors to careers where the knowledge of Spanish is an important component of the job. Spanish can also give those in the workforce the upper hand when applying for positions, as second language competency is an attractive talent to firms that are working in a global market or that seek to reach Spanish-speaking markets domestically.
Since Spanish is spoken by so many people—more than 28 million in the U.S. and 132,000 in Minnesota, according to the Modern Language Association— the opportunities to employ advanced Spanish language skills are numerous.
Graduates of the Spanish program at Morris have been hired at many prestigious firms, such as:

They have also taken positions at:
- NGOs
