Why Political Science?

One of the primary virtues of the political science major at Morris is breadth.

Major

The foundation of the major are two survey courses and a course in research methods.

Students then take elective courses in each of the subfields:

• American Politics
• International Relations and Comparative Politics
• Political Theory

Directed study and field studies credits may also apply towards the requirements for the major.

The curriculum is completed with a senior capstone seminar focused on independent research.

Minor

The political science minor may be accomplished by successfully completing 20 credits from the Political Science course offerings.

Double majors in political science are common, and a desirable option for many students. Some recent double major graduates at Morris have paired Political Science with:

• Communication, Media, and Rhetoric
• Economics and Management
